Animate Left Right Movement, Static Image for Left and Right?

Hi

So I am wondering how to do this. I have my character who have movement to go left and right, and both left and right movement is animated. However how can I get it so that when I release the left button you see the static figure facing left and same with right?

    I think I have it now only I see there being an issue later on, so if you know what Im going on about and you have a possible way of doing this let me know thanks.
