Making a "lite" version of your game

Has anyone made a "lite" version of their game? I hear that sometimes this can boost sales? Anyone have any info on this, that would be great, I'm thinking of creating some lite versions for all my games, but not sure if this is the best thing to do

i can just tell you that i have a lot of lite versions on my ipod, and i have never bought the full versions... Most of the time when i was very interested in a game the lite-version has proved that the game is not that fanatastic ;)

I am not taking a hack at anyone here who has made an app wether it be with GS or not, but the way Im looking at my apps is that people buy crap. Simple. I wouldn't do a lite version as SDMG says, as it doesn't put people off and you will have people buy it anyway.

Im not saying you have made a bad product, as I don't even know what its about, but if you want a lite version that will make you success and boost sales then your app has to be really quite something good.

Tshirt, do you have any lite versions of your games now? Or are you making a lite version for your red block remover game?

I've been reading online and they're all saying to make a lite version, but use your judgment for each title. Depending on the game, you may want to steer away from making a lite version, but if you think it's a great product that will sell, then you should make one.

The question is, how do you submit your game as a lite version?

You just trim down the levels and if it's a platformer, perhaps have 2 levels to play with, and put a link in there that says buy the full version?

In order to make a lite version, you have to submit it as a néw app right?
Does the icon have to be different from the full version or can you use the same icon?
Anything else I should know before submitting a lite version of an app?

Are you submitting lite versions of your apps? I'm debating if I should do one for endless apples or just wait to do one for my bigger platformer game...

Seems to be the game would have to be pretty big to warrant a lite version. Any game 1.99 and under I think a lite version would actually hurt sales more than improve.

So in order to link the full version in the lite version, I'd have to release full version first, them
obtain the link and put it in the lite version right? Or is there another way to do this ?

Cool! So just replace the Stacey+Bennett" With My first+Last" and I'm good to go? :) Thanks again!

I'm registered under my legal name right now, not butterbean, so I'd just replace the last bit with my first+lastname" correct?

What should I do for a lite version If I am not a pro member? I have no option to create "in app" purchase.

    1) Will it work if I have a pop up asking folks to go download my game from iTunes Store? 2) Will Apple reject my app?

    Thanks!

I just got a lite version approved with a screen telling people they can get the full version in the app store.

Also, Pro doesn't allow in app purchases, just links.
