Ok so its in the rough stages still, but feedback welcome on my main menu for my new game in production 'Horror Box'.

I'm planning on animating the 'Horror' text so it looks like fresh blood, with trickles of blood running away from the text.

But what do you think about the parallax scrolling and the camera movement. I will add some dark breathing to the menu to... with the odd scream....

PLAY IT FULL SCREAM TO SEE WHATS GOING ON)

It's very nice. I have one question - those pipes are from a photo or this is a drawing?

its from a photo, thats been photoshopped a bit to get the right layout of pipes, plus I added some darkness to the underside of the pipes. Plus the drop shadow...

How do you add a video or jpg to your post?

Looks nice, but a bit jerky for the pipes.
It's probably GS again with that parallax scrolling...

They simply can't handle anything else, than still images... it's a shame.

They need a new engine programmer, I think.

JoeMeiser: i just figured out that you can simply post the youtube URL and the website embeds the vid automatically!

@stormy, really like the effect! was following your post on how to do this, glad to see it worked out!

    cheers, RP

I like it! Love the breathing aspect, which'll be even more impressive with the heavy breathing sound. Had a thought concerning that, was wondering if the "breathing screen" would move even further down, and reveal something nasty (or implied) behind. Just a thought.

Hi Joe, say it's a video, it's uploaded to YouTube more often than not, there you'll be given a bit of HTML to paste into your thread/post. Same with images, say they're uploaded to PhotoBucket, you copy and paste the link there and it'll appear in your post.

    @Hunn

Any ideas on ways to improve the smoothness. As you point out it's a bit jump?

    Never tried parallax scrolling

    fair enough...

I'll have a look into the parallax formula and see if it something there making the movement jump every few frames..
