appmagenta: Guarantees you a spot in the top 25 free apps?

I found this marketing site called appmagenta, and they are basically saying that they will guarantee you a spot in the top 25 FREE apps within 3 days or they will give you a 100% refund.

They only do free apps not paid apps, which is a bit suspicious to me...

The cost is $2700....thats a lot. But if it were to bring you to the top 25, your app with iads, then you could easily make that money back

In the end, I don't think I would do such a thing, but just wanted to see what you guys thought...

    I say Scam but don't know as i have never used a company to market before (well we used Chillingo for http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tumble-jumble/id337934105?mt=8)but that's a bit different.

    I would say stay away from all marketing firms like this.

    Yeah, I was never gonna use it just wanted to see what you guys thought.

    I also read another forum that had some users who paid for it. They said that it actually got them to the top 25 getting 8000+ downloads a day, but their ads weren't making any money. That lead them to think that it was a computer bot downloading it thousands of times...and that also goes back to why they don't do paid apps. A computer bot wouldn't be able to download a paid app 8000+ times because then they would have to spend some serious money.

    Hi...

    thats a fair price...I would want to talk with their current customers and see what they say! which apps they promote have made it into the top 25....

    This would work really well if we had in app purchasing. That should be the next priority for GS if we want to increase revenue, seems to be the trend now with a lot of apps.

    do they only take on games they think would have a shot at the top 25?

    I think they will take apps of all quality but remember the better quality app it is the better you will do once they help you reach the top 25. This is especially good for people who have never been recognized for their awesome games.

    Remember, they are guaranteeing you a spot up there within 3 days or full refund, so they're expecting you to give them an app with quality.

    One guy only made it up to around rank 30 overall free apps and they gave him a full refund
