Restitution - can you change it/ how to replicate it?

I'm trying to vary the restitution of an actor dependant on (for example) the height of it.

Am I right in thinking that you can't change the restitution of an instance during the game? It has to be before the game starts?

If this is the case, does anybody know how I could go about recreating the effect of restitution? I'd consider myself fairly competent when it comes to maths but I don't know what to do here. Do objects bounce of at a symmetrical angle?

Thanks for any help.

Hi RH, you are correct that you can't alter restitution during gameplay. I'm don't know how you'd recreate that behaviour unfortunately, as none of the Physics attributes can be changed when a game's a'rollin. And answer to your last question, yes, objects bounce off at the opposite/symetrical angle. :-)
