In a nutshell, I've been working on this game on and off for a YEAR. I've moved 3 times while working on this game!
While it's not the most perfect platformer, I put a lot of time into this, and had to shelve it due to memory issues, and crashing. With GS 0.9 however, I am now able to publish it after it sat waiting to be finished!
It was inspired by one of my all time favorite platformers for the Genesis (Mega Drive): Castle of Illusion: Starring Mickey Mouse.
It has a very magical, mythical feeling to it, and it's stays true to the traditional platformers. Nothing fancy, but includes stomping, shooting, invincibility, jumping through platforms, disappearing and reappearing platforms to magnitude, and a Boss Battle at the end inspired by the Maleficent Boss in Castle of Illusion.
It includes 5 different worlds total with 4 sub-levels in each. I plan to add more levels in future updates, with perhaps more platforming additions.
The graphics are done by Ian, and he did an amazing job as you can see! He's gotten some great compliments as people in the T.A forums have said his work is STUNNING. I've also had some positive feedback from the T.A forums, and people looking forward to the game.
Fingers and toes crossed it gets featured, and if nothing else, hope everyone enjoys it

Good luck Butter ;^)
How did you do this upside down thing? :-)
Can't wait to play.
Darren.
@Cap: the upside down thing was a P.I.A but I basically took the controls of the girl and flipped them, so everything is backwards.
It was inspired by a level in Castle of Illusion: Starring Mickey Mouse in the Toy level where he steps on a switch and everything flips, killing the enemies
Any other suggestions would be helpful!
A trailer for your viewing pleasure
However my personal opinion is that today, most of all, paid app on appstore are bought by casual gamer (to make exceptions with big games like Rage or RealRacing etc that are bought by casual and hard gamers).
Your game seems to be a classic platform, better than 99% of GS games, but no so interesting to be bought on appstore, because there's no awesome graphics.
My games are worst than yours , but you asked for suggestions so I think that your awesome work would be more profitable with awesome graphics...that costs a lot!
Most of people will not buy your game because they will hastily watch screenshots (and I want to say that your graphics are absolutely NOT BAD!!)
However I will surely buy your game and do a 5 star review from Italy !!
I appreciate your feedback, and see where you're coming from.
I personally think the graphics are superb for a classic platformer, but everyone has different taste.
If you look at Giana Sisters, they did pretty well, and their graphics are 2D style, with the classic platforming elements.
I think there is a market for the more hardcore gamer in the app store, although I do agree, that a majority of sales to be had, are of the casual gamer.
I took a huge risk with this game, because I invested a lot of time, and also, for an indy developer like myself, I invested more money than any game ever.
But I wanted to take that risk, because platforming is my favorite genre, and this is a game I would purchase, had it released in the app store.
If anything, I hope to break even, and get my money back on the graphics, and I'm at least confident with that.
I also wouldn't hesitate to say that there are still flaws in the game, but I did the best, and hardest work I could to polish it up, and I hope it gets some attention, and if anything, a niche group of people enjoy it for what it is
Thanks again for the feedback, and appreciate a 5 star review from Italia! Does that come with coffee and a thin crust pizza?
You're right, platform fans will try your game, I just think that today there are lots of "canabalt" style game with cool graphics that reach top25 in their category.
Your game seems to be more elaborate, it's a platform, not the usual clone of canabalt, so I think It has more potential than a canabalt game.
Your graphics are cool...better than lots of Gs games and better than my games! (Stone Wheel and Cannon Basket) but take the number 1 example: The Secret of Grisly Manor, surely a good game (I loved to play it) but surely an awesome graphic!
I think that if you're game would have a graphic like this:

your revenues should be x100!
And remember: Coffee, pizza and pasta!!!
