Publishing Query

Evening. I cant publish anything at the mo but looking at the problem thread, they're working on the patch now. What i dont understand is all these menus when publishing? We never had to do all this in the last version, i hate that i have to enter all the details into GS 1st. Do they just send us the file back as normal when the publishing is actually working? I havent had to say where i want it saved so dont really know what its doing ;)

Am i missing something?
