itunes connect uploading question

when you create a game in itunes connect, it didn't ask me to upload a file, is this okay (it now says waiting for upload) so i upload it after, or did i do it wrong and was supposed to upload before?

    You have to use an application that you can find under /Developer/Applications/Utilities/Application Loader

    This will send the app to Apple

    i have another problem, it doesn't recognize my .app file, so do i have to change it to something?

    you have to zip it up
