Enemy´s field of view

Hya guys!

If got some question about the field of view for my game.
first off check out my crappy little scribble to know what i wanna try to explay :D

1. is it generally possible to give a character f.ex. an enemy an field of view (the lighter red area)?
the 'hero' should only be detected, when he runs through the f.o.v. of the enemy

2. is it possible to move the f.o.v of the enemy around himself (just like he looks).
+ to make the enemy walk a route (the dotted line)?

it would be great if there is some tuts or files for this - i´m just a rookie in gamesalad right now - any help is appreciated!

    You can use magnitude to see how far another actor is away from you.

    FMG's did a template/demo using magnitude a while back.
