Ok, changing the name of 'Horror Box', which of these 5 is best?

I got some feedback from the Touch Arcade forum, mainly that 'Horror Box' sounds like a multi-box set of some cheap horror themed games, and that they would not click the game icon to find out more.

So with that in mind and the fact its a horror game based around being trapped in a lift...

What name do you like best?

    I think "The Secret of..." seems to get noticed pretty well.

    Maybe "The Secret of the Shadow Children" sounds pretty good.

    I'm going Steel Asylum based on the description.
    But Dark Asylum sounds like an adventure campaign for Call of Cthulhu ... or a Clive Barker game so maybe that would be a better choice.

    Am I the only one likes "Fallen Shadows"?

    Great thinking about all those "Box" things Stormy, but, I think you should still go with something includes "horror" in it. It is the best word that describes your horrifying game! :)

    well The Shadow Children is a book series that I read so stay away from that (those books made me depressed haha).

    Ok I'm liking the idea of adding

    'The horror of the' to the beginning.

    But it would then make the title too long to be displayed nicely underneath the icon on your device.

    So I'm thinking for the app store search and icon call the game

    Dark asylum, but on the main menu of te game add in smaller font. 'The horror of'

    Creating (for those having a slow day :-)

    'The horror of the Dark Asylum'

    I like steel, but think people would sometimes spell it wrong when searching I.e steal and still.

    but screw it ... I like the name and I like Batman too.

    I think thats too long and too convoluted... doesnt flow immediately off the tongue.

    It isnt going to fit below your icon very well either, and will become a bit of a mishmash, unless you abbreviate it, in which case you might as well just have a shorter name to begin with.

    I wouldnt try forcing a name... just keep bouncing ideas for now if your still in developnment.

    Thanks, another name may come around as the game nears completion...but regarding the name not fitting below the icon...I said this earlier in the topic...

    Hi stormy: my thoughts at the moment about using the word Asylum: if your game takes place in confined spaces like a lift, and if I bought this game not knowing much about it, I'd be wondering where the Asylum fits in. Lifts in an asylum? I suppose I'd want other images of the asylum, if you get my drift.

    Same with The Shadow Children; this sounds like a major Playstation game which, inevitably would involve ghost children or the like.

    Hope you don't mind me saying this; it's just that, of course you want as good a name as you can get, but the name can't be too exaggerated or beyond what the actual game is about. "it does what it says on the can" sort of thing. Just my penny's worth.

    I so want to come back with another lift comment but my mind has reached its peak...

    Damn you mind, if only I could elevate my IQ...

    @Gyro, fear not, the game idea has extended quite a bit, so there are now children in the shadows (creepy ones at that) and the asylum setting has been taken into account...

    Hey Jon..hope you don't mind my bumping this post...
    Here are some suggestions, just spitballing (is that a thing? i think i heard it on house;)

    fallen horror/asylum/sanitarium (i like sanitarium, but there are too many spellings...remember the game from the 90-sumptin?)
    or "falling" horror/something

    dropped (in?)...sounds like another poop-app, though

    I don't know...I just love the prospect of solving problems in the falling lift...and i'd somehow try to hint at it in the title somehow...and reconsider using "horror", since i even searched for that in the appstore (one of many, probably), looking for a scary game..although you could just tag it..

    maybe just "the lift"?
    or children of the lift?

    I'm tired now...sorry,no good ideas. thought they'd come when starting the post:)

    You can give a short name for the game on the device.

    You can call it "myverylongwindedtitleontheappstore" and you can call it "MvLtotA" on the device.

    Apple says, the device title SHOULD be similar for recognition, but it doesn't have to be the same!

    Maybe even add barkbarks suggestion "Secrets of the Dark Asylum"
