Hey guys
Thought i would post a quick video of the character movement in my Work in Progress Zombie Shooter.
The animation isn't quite complete and there are no enemies etc in this video, but it shows the main movements! Also shows the graphical style of the game!
The title card is just a placeholder at the mo, as are the fonts.
cheers
EDIT-sorry for the faint TV noise in the background! Also, the video isn't as bright as the screen grab looks!

anybody have any ideas for a side scrolling zombie shooter?
cheers
P.S. If you want it to be easier naming it then take the storyline (If there is one) and combine that with a zombie scroller. From what I see right now maybe you could name it Zombie Strike or Zombie hunt because you're shooting zombies.
I was thinking of zombie "something" but can't think what the something should be. Still working on the exact storyline, but it's something like you are trying to get out the forest. still haven't decided if it should be an endless game or if at some point you can get out the forest.
Thanks

Just my thoughts.
I'll start of by saying the gameplay looks pretty fun.
But the graphics look pretty dated, and home made. And as many have stated before it's really the logo and the few screenshots that sell your game.
Why not team up with a designer in exchange for points on the sales?
You can find plenty of art students or recent graduates that would help you I'm sure! They might even do it just for the credit!
That's my humble opinion. And I would have normally kept it to myself, but it looks like a really fun game, and I think with some cool graphics, you would do really well.
the green button is to reload your gun, i think you could be right about the icons, I wasn't sure myself.
for the graphics, I have done them all myself in illustrator, so they are homemade, haha. I was thinking of sending off to someone for a quote on the graphics when i had a full graphics set done myself, just so I know I havent missed anything. but I think it's definatly something worth doing!
Thanks!
Hiring someone might be pricy(I work in that industry). You might be able to get a junior guy to do it for 1k, or so. But hiring a studio will be expensive.
I plan on doing an exhange for points myself
I might look down the share on profits also, thanks for the idea!
As far as gameplay...i was too busy LMAO at the fact that the girl's mouth goes "bang" "bang" as she shoots the gun LOL! That was awesome!
Graphics are important though. Either make it "campy on purpose", or spend some money on an artist.
To be fair, there isn't really any gameplay in the video, but should have zombies coming at you from the sides, out the ground, birds / bats from the air etc. When you kill a zombie it will release a ammo round which you touch to collect.
If the graphics cost is too much tho (im a lone ranger), I may have to go down the camp on purpose route!haha.
Thanks for the comments guys!
Like someone else mentioned...it's all about the Logo, Screenshots, etc. As long as the game is fun, and the graphics are at least intentionally bad (thinking Doodle Jump), then it will do good.
How about "Doodle Zombie Attack"? Then you could put your Bamboo pen back to work on the doodling!

Could it pass as a doodle game? I'd have to put a compulsory square grid background!
That sounds like an awesome game to me! LOL!
Im thinking maybe Angry Doodle Zombie Attack (joke)
Look at Angry Birds, there graphics look clean and nice, but they aren't really anything special either.
Don't take it too badly, for someone who's not an artist they are respectable. But if they were badass, I think you would have a lot better luck.
