Hey guys, I am readying my new kids game and I was wondering which icon you guys preferred. At first I thought it was easy but I am starting to like the other one as well.... Please take a minute and let me know!

I like the bottom one, but I think the deep blue of the top one would attract a kid's attention more!

I think #2 is prettier and #1 is more eye-grabbing.

It's pretty much 50-50... Crazy!! I posted this on my other sites as well as facebook and it's pretty much split... Thanks for the input!!

Try the blue from the first one in the second picture, and maybe brighten the yellow of the sand!

The top one to me looks like "clipart" where as the one on the bottom looks more professional, and better from an art perspective and I think the reason why people like the top one is because of the brightness of the background. Otherwise the 2nd one is better :)

But I bet if you changed the background on the 2nd one to a more brighter blue, and redid a poll, then you'd have more votes on the 2nd :)

I'd say the second one as well; the added details adds more atmosphere and "depth" to it. :-) Agree with butterbean about the top one as well.

And as much as I've gathered: the top one might be fine for a two or three year old, but children's vision/image perception gets quickly more sophisticated after that, so if the app is aimed at older children, (4 to 6 perhps) I'd say the second.

No doubt as a picture the second one is way better. But my thinking is as an Icon you have split seconds to grab the attention of someone browsing the apps that is why I chose the first one, it is less busy and stands out more. Bottom line go with what you like. ;-)

Must get new glasses: it's an icon, not an illustration for in the app, I understand now; ........still say the second! Will/would look more sophisticated at smaller sizes, without being too cluttered.
