32Bit PNG's will not render properly in GS 0.9.0?

Think I just found a small issue in GS 0.9.0, not sure if it's a major problem or not.

Always used to be able to load in .PNG files (32bit) now I cannot.

If I open the file and save it DOWN to a 24bit PNG in which still does support transparency it works ok.

Tried many applications with the same bizarre results, even an image saved from Apple preview does the same thing.

The image does appear in the inspector just fine, problem occurs when you drag an actor onto the stage.
It will either display really small like 4 pixels or be blurry. Turned off stretch in the actor settings and that just made it almost vanish.

Really bizarre....

Anyone else experience this issue?

Sample below, the image in sharp focus is the 24bit, the red smudge and the timy figure is the 32bit versions.

Hi Toby, 24 bit PNG saves transparency correctly, 8 bit has crappy transparency. What software are you using? 32 bit format (tiff, openexr, png) are also knows as HDRI, and you use them for compositing vfx for high-end commercials or movies because they offer a very broad range of colors... look here for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_depth#32-bit_color

Hi Toby, exactly what LAdrian said; GS doesn't support 32 bit images and 24 bit is more than good enough. So basically steer clear of 32 bit, use 24 bit for images with transparency, and 8 bit for those with a narrow colour range and no transparency.

Weird, if i save a 24bit PNG from my old Photoshop and turn on transparency (adding the extra 8 bits ...making it 32bit it works.)

Saving a 24 bit PNG image with transparency making it 32bit from other apps does not work?

    File format encode difference...

No matter, my trusty (and very old) copy of Photoshop saves the day!
