Hi guys,

I've been away since the release of the new version.

I just read in some topics that there is no Customized splash screen anymore! even if you paid 500$, So is that true?

Hopefully it is not otherwise I'll have to change the tool to another one :S

Yep, as Arton says, it's true.

It's also one of the reasons I don't have any GS games on the horizon - just as Pause is set to make a comeback!

    QS :(

    quantumsheep,
have you looked into Unity3d? Is that within your price range? I am interested in learning one more app so that i can also make apps for other platforms such as the web, android and consoles.

Then again, I'm sure you know that already :)

p.s. At the beginning, the opening sequence did not bother me but if the pro version removed it, I'd go for that!
Basically, it is wrong to tell end users about their inner designers. If someone is not creative, there is little a slogan can do.
Those who want to make apps will google until they find something that works for them. No need for that blurb which eliminates any custom 3rd party design service!

Corona doesn't have a forced splash screen. It's cheap too... $349 a year. It's a lot like GameSalad.

I still like GameSalad better though. I think it's professional to have a game engine splash screen there. I don't think it should be done as a movie-clip though. There seems to be technical issues with that... something about the white screen hanging.

The problem is for freelancers. If their clients won't accept a loading screen, then GameSalad is of no use. That means it forces GameSalad customers to look elsewhere.

Perhaps the old "Pro" version should return and become "elite". If I was a freelance game developer, $2000 is not a lot of money. That's something that can be passed along to clients that could pay tens-of-thousands-of-dollars for something like this.

Hi, is this still true? (March/april 2011)

In the pricing/comparison page it says "white labeled screen mean",
    what does that mean?

    No, no longer valid.

Pro users can use White label splash screens - i.e. Their own splash screen.

Closing thread so as to not confuse anyone with out of date info!

No if you pay $499 you do not have to show the GS splash screen anymore (ie: it is back as it used to be) and the white label is whatever screen you want to put in there.
