How important is push notification?

Hi,
I am wondering how important it is to enable push notification?

To be honest, the registration and provisioning process is stressful for me and I regret not having spent more time to read up on push notification.

Are you guys using that?

Is there another way to let users know that the app was updated?

Should I worry about that when I update?

Thanks for shedding ome light on this, for me, dark area! :)

You don't need push notifications for letting them know there's been an update; and besides the GameSalad can't use them.

When I update my apps, an icon appears by the App Store icon in my phone letting me know there are updates available to me - it's not anything one has to set up.

    Hope that helps.

so why do they have that option if the appstore tells the consumers theres an update anyways?

maybe its a different kind of ssl push notification?

I get push notifications on Words With Friends. I had to switch it off though, and I do that in general - I don't like the phone buzzing every few minutes, and prefer to get to what I need to do when I want to!
