Hello,

I have an iPhone game almost complete. Is there anyway to port this to the iPad? Can I just change the size of my scenes and target platform?

Is this even possible?

Thank you.

Hi MLC, you can make an iPad version of your iPhone game, and as you said, change the screen size in the Project Editor, as well as import larger scenes if needed into GS.

One thing to note: you have to make some difference (usually additions) to the iPad version, otherwise if Apple see that it's identical to the iPhone version, there's a good chance that they won't accept it.

you can call it the same name, but add something else to the name; a lot of people add the letters HD after the name to distinguish it from the iPhone version.

OK, Thank you. Anyone have experience with this? What did you change about your app for the iPad? Maybe an additional level.

    Thank you again gyroscope.

I actually created the iPad version first with large image sizes then it was easier for me to shrink them down to iphone size.. mine is called Toddler Fun HD with Matching, Popping, Shapes, Sounds. For the iphone version i made it just Toddler Fun - took out matching and put in a Fruit catching game but left in the other 3 games.
    worked for me..

Guys, what do you mean we cannot have the same game, exactly the same game for different platforms?

I have Doodle Rain HD and Doodle Rain SD, exactly the same game, same levels, the only difference is that the levels had adjustments to ensure the same level of playability on the smaller device.

I also starts with the iPad version and then downsized everything.

Hi Mogos; that's good to hear. I wrote what I learnt from other guys on the Forum; perhaps it was like that at one time but they've changed policy, don't know. Can anyone else confirm that exactly the same game is accepted by Apple on different platforms now?
