As a initial project i am trying to recreate a canabalt like game using gamesalad. I plan was to use a spawn actor to randomly spwan platforms, but I am having a difficult time with the math. I would like the platforms to spawn rate and speed to increase throughout the game play, while the player is constrained to the left most part of the screen.

I am having trouble controlling the gaps between platforms as the speed of the game increases. I can't figure out how to control the timer on spawn actor to shot platforms out which are random and not impossible to jump.

also checkout this link for behind the sceens look at canabult...very good stuff

When making a game the first words out of your mouth shouldn't be "I'm trying to recreate _____". Game development is all about coming up with something new and better, not just ripping off someone else's idea.

There are a ton of games already like canabalt in the app store. It won't be worth your time trying to crank out another. Spend some extra time coming up with something revolutionary, believe me it'll be worth it.

OK recreate is the wrong word. But as I learned in graphic design, deconstruction of great works can teach you a lot about your tools. I not looking to "recreate" as much as i am trying to learn more about GameSalad software. I have torn through the provided templates, and thought this would be an interesting challenge.

Ah OK, so it's ONLY a personal learning experience, you're absolutely not going to try to sell or publish this creation eventually.. Then I believe it's justified...
