Saving, loading and scene changes

In my project, when you pick up an object in a scene, it should stay picked up... and when you use it from inventory, it should stay deleted. It works great within my initial scene. My problem is, whenever I switch scenes via a trigger, the actor that I had destroy itself in the previous scene re-appears in my inventory.

I knew I was going to need to save all my custom attributes whenever I change them, and load them in the main menu with a "load" or "continue" button. But with Gamesalad do I also need to load a bunch of saved custom attributes everytime I switch scenes to make sure nothing gets reset? Or is it a logic bug instead of an engine issue that I need to track down instead?

I guess a simpler way to ask this would be, do custom attributes reset to default value on scene switch?

The short answer is no, they don't (if they are game attributes, for certain); so something else is going on there, not sure what. Hmm, that's what you call "sort of helping". ;-) Sorry I can't be any more help without knowing more of your game.

Nah that helps man, thanks. It must be a logic error where I'm respawning the item without the proper check or something. But I assume if I completely quit the game, that the game attributes will all be completely reset unless I save them?

    Yes, that's correct.

    :-)
