yes. Right click on your project click show contents and delete everything in screenshots folder

well, the screenshot situation is helpful to know about!
The splash screen situation is just a simple, one word, three letter answer: "bad"!

Do the shots use any memory during the game? Or is it strictly app size?

just app size and can affect initial load times I believe

In their next update, GameSalad should really take the screenshots out of the equation...they don't really serve a significant purpose, plus they take up memory
