Ok, I seem to be hijacking other peoples threads to try and get an answer to this question, I can find plenty of info for what GameSalad Direct is and what it does, but nothing with regards to what Gendai want if you decide to publish with them ( I know Accelerator is an invite only option ), but what is the base % Gendai are asking if you initially go through the route of publishing with them ( any game ) ?

    I think TSB mini cannon is the only one so far, I imagine they will release % figures etc when they see how successful they are at publishing it.

    Right, so no official figures.

    I was under the impression Mini Cannon was under the Accelerator program, which I thought was seperate from standard gendai publishing.

    talk about a wall of silence from the publishers....geez..

    Also wanted to say thanks, gazjm, for at least having the decency to comment with some info ! :)

    No problem, although this is usual a quite part on the forum due to timezones etc, maybe why no one else has.

    I thought the direct program was cancelled and replaced with the accelerator program. my guess is to build credibility as a publisher, then reintroduce direct in the future if they do well at publishing.

    @PIXOMUSE

    To put it simply, there is no GameSalad Direct anymore. We listened to the issues raised by our community and responded by eliminating the Direct model. It wasn't what our community wanted and, in all honesty, it got away from what we are really all about, opening the doors of game creation to everyone. That's why we now offer GameSalad totally free.

    We are now publishing select community titles through our Accelerator program. The first titles to published under this program are Mini Cannon & Mini Cannon HD. Community titles published through Accelerator are screened for quality and invited to participate in the program. Any community member may submit a title for consideration, but not all titles will be published. We'll be releasing a lot more detailed information on the program (what it means, what you get, how to submit) in January 2011.

    I hope that clears up some of the questions.

    Thank you, Yodapollo

    I'm glad to hear there will be more detailed information coming through in the new year, I look forward to hearing that.

    So, Gendai published games are only done under Accelerator only ( with marketing, etc added in and subject to quality screening ), ok, I understand that.

    So, if you want Gendai to publish, but, say, your game / app does not fit into certain quality requirements, the 'only' option is to self publish, or is there also a 'standard' publish with Gendai option available, but with perhaps not the same push as the Accelerator program. That's the mainly confusing thing for me right now, understanding what is available should the users game / app not make it into the accelerator program ?
