Greetings, GS community!
Recently i started to explore the editor, found a lot of useful stuff, had a lot of fun with game templates, but one thing keeps bothering me.

Is there any embeddded or thirdparty scripting language for GS? Well, for example, i'd like to create an entity (behaviour, FX etc.) that doesn't exist in GS and it can't be created using GS tools. How can i achive such a twisted goal?

There is no scripting in GS.

You can only use, what you see.

There are lots of workarounds with the provided things. What did you want to make a code for?

Well, i'd like to make Obulis-like game.
    http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=obulis&aq=f

The only trouble i see - are ropes and the physics around them.

I think Tagore booth has a demo for this. I'll see if I can find a link.

I think what he ment is like in "Cut the Rope" how the ropes are fluid, fluid ropes are currently not possible.

I was actually wondering too if you could make a squishy physics object. John, do you know how?

I meant like a plastic bag full of water. Or even a bendy straw. Just any non-rigid surface. Is it possible?
  • JohnPapiomitisJohnPapiomitis Member Posts: 6,256
Yes, ill make a demo with a plastic bag full of water, and when you touch it it pops. Its not as simple as one behavior or just telling something not to be rigid,or selecting water physics thats why josh said no, but with alot of rules math and some invisible actors it can be done.

Email sent. Im gonna tune of the physics better, and make it swing from the rope instead of hanging, but that will show you the concept.

Let me know what you think and if theres anything you would like changed, added.

    Cheers,

    John

Jon if your happy to oblige, I'd love to see this squishy/rope demo.

    jon_draper(@)yahoo.co.uk

Your game looks cool, reminds me of xmoto on the mac. But with a bmx. I intrigued to know how many actor you used to create the curve for the ramps? (as we are limited to squares/circles) Or is it done with maths /trig.

    Hey Stormy,

Glad you think it looks cool! Theres 100s of actors on each level for the ground lol, but the finished game is only 7mb!

And i didnt finish the squishy rope demo yet, the one i finished is a bag you pop and water comes out.
    Merry Christmas!
