spawning actor from a spawned actor

i'm needy. i know. but i'm learning...

i would like to spawn an actor from a spawned actor...possible?

where do i put everything?

one button ("help") spawns a set of actors, including two buttons ("yes, please" and "no, thanks").
I would then like "yes, please" to spawn another actor, "hint"

things i've tried:
1.attaching the rule to the "yes,please" actor by selecting the actor from the left panel
2.including the rule in the set of rules in the help button actor, at the bottom of the list, both within and separated from the other rules

*my rule includes pressing the mouse down and x and y min's and max's, behaviour: spawn actor (hint_1) in front of scene

also tried creating a boolean attribute, then if mouse is pressed in area of "yes,please," change attribute to true...if true then spawn actor "hint"

no luck yet.

I haven't seen what your describing (new here so that means nothing) but could you achieve the desired result with moving a actor from offscreen to the position you want like a menu popup. The yes and no could be different actors.

The demo I saw had the menu slide in but I guess you could have it invisible during the move and then change its opacity once it has arrived.

Just an idea ... not sure if it would work in your case.

if you open GS and click new .. then type 'menu' in the search box ... a few versions come up ... I just did it to test and found a better example than I was remembering it is labelled Popup menu DEMO.

tried to access video. told me i needed gs plugin. downloaded plugin. when through set up. clicked on install.

now what...
where is it?
how do i watch the vid?
it still prompts me to download plugin...

Leanne .. in Gamesalad 'New' should bring you the screen allowing a search. Those search results can be selected and in the right lower corner you can click to 'Play on GameSalad.com' OR Edit in GameSalad Creator'. Select the Edit one and the project will open on your desktop just like the projects you are making yourself. You can save a copy, view the behaviors and play the file.

Let me know if you still have issues getting this file and I'll email it over. Would be good for you to get access to all the downloadable examples though so give that a go.
