iAd Question

Hello, I currently have an actor that displays an iAd. However, as both Apple and GameSalad have mentioned, weather or not an iAd is actually displayed depends on several factors, such as network connectivity, iAd adequate inventory, etc. Is there a way in GameSalad to determine if an iAd is being displayed, so if one isn't, I can show my own banner in the space that was allotted for the iAd?

Just put your own banner with a URL in the same location under the iAd. Then if no iAd your banner plays but when an iAd does show Your banner is covers. Download Annoyed Tomatoes or Arcade Action and look at that Photics does the same thing in those two games

Ok, when I did this in GS, the GameSalad "Test Advertisement" banner covered my banner, but I could see "through" the GS banner, and still see my banner. Is this just because the GS banner is partially transparent, or will all iAds have the same transparency? Thanks again.

iAds don't have transparency so it would work

If you have a manual banner with a url attached, does the iad that overlays it stop the url behaviour from working when an iad is active? (never tried it before)

I was wondering the same thing. I'm publishing to my iPhone now, so I'll let you know what happens.

I just tested this scenario with an app I am currently working on, and when an iAd is displayed directly over my manual banner, the link to the manual banner does not execute when the iAd is touched.

This is good to know
