Can you make a larger actor than 1024x1024 if it's not using an image, just a color?

Hi GamersRejoice, 1024 x 1024 is the largest actor/graphic you can have. As for an actor not using an image, just a colour, that's an interesting question! My answer to that is: I'm not sure....my guess is that if it's just a flat colour chosen in GS, then the answer would be yes; but we'll wait for confirmation on that! :-)
Well I've tried making an actor that is 1200x1200 and it allows me too, I'm just not sure if this will make something splode or not?
Maybe I should explain what I'm trying to do. I am making a large menu scene with camera position for the different screens. What I want to happen is have the screen fade to black and then the camera moves and the screen fades back in. This is all fine and dandy except when I'm having the fade in and out actor constrain to the camera actor it lags behind and you see the edges of the screen showing through. So my thought was maybe I could make one large actor that covers the whole scene and fades in and out but doesn't follow the camera. Any ideas, tips?

Because GS allows actors to be made larger than 1024 squared without images, that's what makes me think those ones should be OK. For certain, if you try dragging in any image larger than that, a dialog will tell you that it's too large and gives you a button to reduce it if you wanted.

If you do manage to explode your game file, can you video it? I'd love to see that! ;-)

If I understand correctly, I'd suggest the following as a workaround: make your different menu screens different scenes, so that when one fades to black, then goes to the next scene, that can fade up, without any need for the camera. Or, make your blackout screen as one actor (and even if its larger in one dimension than allowed, being as there's no image, should be OK, as mentioned before) and add 5 to 10 pixels to the length and the width. That way, if it does slip with the camera movement, it won't show the edges. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the help guys. I'm trying the large actor with the camera switching, it didn't give me any warnings or anything and appears to be working so I'll try this for now. I really want to try this camera technique so my menu is fast without load times in between each scene.
