I just signed up to test and the sound effects are free (the list about 3 pay-for pro sound per pages but the rest are free).

Or you could search google for "public domain sounds" there are tons a free ones out there.

Just go to http://www.findfiles.net and type in what you are looking for, heart beat, gun shot, etc. Then go to audio/wav and there you should find your sound file for free download. They have several Millions of them. You may also search for mp3 music, midi files etc.
