There are quite a few demos in the +new section within GameSalad. Just search for "shoot" or something like that and you'll find what you need. Then you can open up the game file and see how it's done. That's the easiest way to learn for me at least.

Right click the download project link. Then in the dropdown menu, choose download linked file. Then once it downloads, save it as a .zip file.

right click the download project button (bottom right) and do a save as. When it asks yiu where to save it and what name ... add .zip to the end (otherwise it will save it as a game fil which your Mac won't know what to do with.

Find it where you have saved it and double click to upzip it. The result will be a file you can open and see the code.

There are tons of such files and it is really the best way to see how GS works.

change it to .zip Make sure the extension at the end is what you changing. Then after you do that double click the zip folder it makes, then the gamesalad project file will pop out of that

it doesn't bring it up as a folder it brings it up as a chess game

sorry bgapps .. my instructions might have led you wrong. I just did what I stated and it saved it as a xxxxx.zip.game. The .game part is what confuses the Mac to think the chess application should open it.

Anyway you have the right download ... but right click on it and select 'get info' ... in the window that opens you should see the name & Extension. Change it so that it is xxxx.zip (ie: take off the .game part).

Then close the get info window and double click the file and it will unzip and then you can click that to now load Gamesalad.

Let me know if you are still having trouble ...

just in case you have additional trouble I have uploaded it here as just the .zip file so download this and double click to get the file.
