in a single sit-down dev timeframe...how often would you say you close and restart GS? (either from slow downs, or from paranoia) LOL!

I'll usually suffer through until I get scare that it has locked up and lost 20 min of work. Thats happened more than once.

If you dont use the back and forward buttons, and just switch threw scenes with the scene dop down list, it lasts a longer

On my system, it does not matter "how" I switch, eventually I have to restart.
Maybe I am wrong, but I think that with every preview, it slows down. So as long as I just work on actors and add/edit rules, I'm ok.
How ever, it always previews fast and there is nev a slowdown during preview.

I suppose I too have gotten used to the reboots like I have gotten used to save back when blender, a 3d app, was not able to undo!

As long as at the end of the day I have progress, I'm happy :)

It's shocking that this is still such an issue after all this time. I started using GameSalad almost 10 months ago, and this was already a well documented issue back then. There's been numerous claims from Gendai that they were looking into it as a priority, and claims of it being fixed or partially fixed, but it's still there.... For everyone to see.

I'm sure I remember it being touted as one of the massive improvements we were getting with 9.0 .... But short of the new publishing model and a few extra fonts, there really wasn't any noticeable difference to the editor and tools....

The software still has the same editor, lacking features and instability that it had 10 months ago........

    well the reasons are valid...
in Preview... GS just reads the xml files you have created and links in the gfx and efx.
in Creator... GS keeps all the xml code files and all Actor manipulation you have worked on in memory...
the more work you do... the greater the mem drain.
In trying to make things easier to navigate in Creator, GS actually makes for more time intensive work with the mem drain.

I for one, would prefer to have nothing but the current scene in mem... and I guess the xml file I am currently working on for save purposes... nah... as GS is quick to access those files when you do a restart... just clear out the memory when I preview or open another Actor.

It's become such a habit of shutting down and restarting that I almost think I have to do it with other programs like Photoshop or Illustrator. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but I do hope it's a top priority of theirs to fix. It's been long overdue.

Ya I started using GS about a year ago (did it go that fast?) the slowdown has gotten better but is still bad! I do have to say between .89 and .9 it has gotten better but still remember the program is STILL in BETA.

But have hope fellow GS'rs there will be a fix at least when 1.0 (please be soon) comes out.
