Freeze Controller or Freeze Image

What I'm trying to do is when an actor collides with an object another image appears of the actor for 3 seconds but as some as I touch/move the controls the image goes back to the default image.

I've tried run to completion but that doesn't work

    I've discovered that if I delete my animation it will stay as the still image for 3 second but I really need to have the animation. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to deal with this.
