GAMESALAD PLEASE Make Gs compatible with the mac appstore.

I desperately need it as soon as possible. As do a lot of people.

No, more like fix the memory leak that is still persisting. (Fixed in 0.9.0? Yeah right.)

Yeah, as much as I'd like to see access to the Mac Appstore, I think I'd prefer to see their effort move towards stability. We really don't need to see them trying to conquer every marketing vertical out there.

Next thing you'll hear is them announcing Android support or something...

    Stability and features first please.

I agree to a certain point. Definitely need to be working on stability and features.
Except the mac app store apps use xcode so why can GS not add this functionality fairly easy.
Not saying its a huge issue for me since I really dont plan on dropping another $100 until I get some good games going for iOS but I can see many who would like to move to more markets. Although I'm skeptical that alot of our games could be easily played on MAC, Bumps, Sure, but Running Wild, Not so much since you have to touch the enemies very quickly it would be difficult and prob more irritating to play. But now on the same token the platform level at the end or Running Wild pre determined key could probably control everything.

Last Year, it was iAds and the price of Pro.

2011 battle-cry... MAC APP STORE... GAME CENTER... IN-APP PURCHASES!

Actually, I'm not sure if they're listening. I haven't seen many yellow posts lately. I'm not calling it a New Year's Resolution, but I've decided to just let them work. GameSalad is good enough to make money with. If not, my Xcode skills are getting better. I don't want to waste this year on the forums, having a one-way debate with the GameSalad developers.

They should just know what they need to do.
If they don't, they can easily post up here and ask.

I AGREE TO, if you think about it GS has already made it so we can build a mac app but all we need is a code sign :)

Yes, for me it seems to be that easy.

good news! GameSalad support HAVE confirmed in an email that they are bringing out an update 'really soon' to allow us to export for the mac app store. When asked about possible conflict with mac app store t & c's on using 3rd party software they said its okay since GameSalad uses Xcode at the end and this was the same issue with the app store.

When asked if it would be ready in weeks or months, they said: 'certainly not months' and 'we hope to have it ready real soon' :)

This news makes me a little disappointed. The GameSalad team could have posted it themselves. It's an opportunity to improve community relations and improve their public image.

It's great news though. Wow... it seems that I might have to spend another $99 on an Apple Developer license.

    Yeah they should tell us.
I will also have to spend 99 more, but it is not a Cost, It is an investment.

i would rather have gamecenter and stability fixed than the mac appstore.

I think Game Center would lead to more profitability. I think it's better to have one really good app on the iTunes App Store, than two mediocre apps - one on iTunes and one on the Mac App Store.

Yet, I still find the Mac App Store to be fascinating. I start wondering... should I update Commove for this new market? Which would be more successful?

That's when I realized another issue. Sure, it's great if I could add Game Center to Commove, but the game is old. If I add those features, it's not really going to bring in that many new customers. The app is already buried - crushed under the weight of thousands of apps.

I think I'd be more successful by releasing a Mac version of Commove, rather than adding Game Center to the existing versions.

I want both, GameCenter is going to be great for leaderboards and achievements, as would twitter or facebook integration. Being able to share your scores is only going to increase the visibility of your apps. While it's not important if you have a new game, most of the top selling games have some sort of leaderboard integration.

The macappstore would probably only be a slight change from their current model, they already allow us to create mac apps using GS, so it can't be a huge leap to make it compatible. Being able to launch apps on both iPad / Mac store would be great for visibility too.

Either way, it would be nice to get back to the monthly updates about what's going on. What drives me crazy about this organization is how everything is a big secret for no reason.

    Yea,

Mac appstore can be something very big for the gamesalad community and also its not hard at all, all they need to do is add a signing option.

    Yes,
I agree a gamesalad for mac appstore would be great if you a developer trying to access this new opening.
However all the top games as johmulcahy said, have some sort of global leader board and I belive this is a crucial aspect of any successful game.
