background bug?

I am trying to add a picture to the back of a layer to make it a background in a scene. When i do this, even when i set the actual actor size to that of the image, it displays it very low-res. Also it causes some of my graphics to disappear/or behave weird. Does anyone know if this is an actual bug/limitation or im doing something wrong with setting a background?

What did you do your artwork in? Photoshop?

no i had some large jpeg's and then resized them to 480 by 320 px.

Are they 72 DPI?

They have to be 72 to work properly in GS

I don't recommend JPEG either. GameSalad just converts it to PNG.

i changed it png at 72 dpi and it worked
