Can I make a new app and release it as an update to an existing one?

Hey gang,
a few weeks ago, I started to fiddle with GS and made "something" ...

I ended up giving it away for free as there was too little content to actually justify selling it although some people are paying for it :)

Now I have recreated the artwork which no longer resemble the "old project" and I have learned MUCH better and efficient ways of how to actually make the app with GS.

My question is:
Can I just treat this as a completely new app but upload it as if it was an update to the original one or, do the provisioning profiles (what ever was used back then) need to match precisely?

Thanks :)

You can upload it as an update to an existing app, but you have to use the same bundle ID in the provisioning.

If you want to be paid for the app after the update, just set the price in the update's pricing menu.

You can't upload it as a whole different app and say, it is an update for another app. It's impossible. Try to think logical. That's what updates are for.

Please learn to understand, how the appstore is working.

I would start by reading the Apple documentation and at least looking around in iTunes Connect, before asking dumb questions. Sorry, it is one.

yea thats a weird one, because technically a developer could sell a 20dollar app and then decide to release an update with nothing in it, and basically rob it users. it depends on how much you have done to the app, if the core gameplay is the same with some tweaks and additions it should be fine if the art is completely different. as long as you announce in the update that it includes a graphics update
