Delete Key Won't Delete Actor

I don't know what I am doing wrong but if I select my actor in my scene and hit the delete key the actor doesn't get deleted. Also if I select Scene in the inspector then select my actor and hit the delete key then the actor doesn't get deleted either.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just found another post that told me I can hit minus in the inspector to remove and actor. This works. I don't know why my delete key won't work though.
