My game got 1024 in just one day!

Hello Guys. To make a test, I put my game Save Cubes, for iPad for free for one day. So, Yesterday I got 1024 downloads.

The top download country was FRANCE: 450. Can I get some advantage of this?

When I change back the game to paid, will I get some advantage of this, or it will loose it rank?

    It will lose its rank and start again as soon as it it is switched to paid

    Yes you will lose the rank and i think you need to get top 25 free to see any decent sales after you put it back to paid.

    I would leave it free for a little longer to see if its climbing.

    We made Silly Sheep free for 3 days and got around 30.000 downloads, mostly from France also :) They seem to love free stuff...

    My plan is to make an update that advertises Silly Sheep 2 once is out so we want Silly Sheep 1 to be installed on as many iphones as possible :)

    How many downloads it needs to have to get top 25 free?
    Maybe in france I already reached this value: 450 downloads yesterday... and 186 in the US store....

    We got #1 in France under games -> family and I think #6 under games -> arcade, the free ones :)

    I Leave ePig Rope free for 2 days and got 50.000 Downloads.
    Don't remember how it climbed on ranks, but is was considerable, and of course was on top 100 (USA).

    Then I return to is price, and sales wen up a little the first day, but then, they return to original sales.

    The free on and off scenario is only good for moving a lot of apps.
    I play this game since my little app came out in the middle of December.
    There are a lot of App Watchers out there who look for apps that turn from
    paid to free. Every time I make mine free I move a couple of hundred units.
    My app is really not that great. But it was my first and i didn't expected to make
    any $'s on it but its still fun to see that hundreds of people worldwide have it
    on their iPhones.
    My first real game will still take 2 month or so and I am expecting to make some
    money on that. I have watched a lot of marketing techniques over the last year and
    have come to the conclusion that while some might help a bit that it really comes down
    to creating something fun and unique that aspires to the masses.

    Im porting save cubes to the iphone... So I'm thinking about giving it for free with iads instead of paid.
    Do you think this is a good Idea? Or maybe two different versions? one paid and another free?

    It is amazing to look at all the countries and see the numbers!
    I saved daily screenshots to watch the progress and some days, was blown away.

    Now I have a handful of apps, pretty much ready to release but this time, I have lite versions which cost $0.99 on release (so that I can make them free and get the "watch dogs" to pick up the price change and advertise the news) and after that, I take a brake from the app store and focus on windows versions!

    The word gets out with free apps, web traffic increased a lot and my new stuff is huge compared to the first apps.

    I wish there was a way to advertise in all major cities with craigslist but they don't let us do that. It would be cool if a member group could be formed that posts each others ads in key cities for extra exposure but once craigslist catches on (and they will) it would not be pretty.

    Let's see how the next release goes and Joe Meister, if you happen to catch this, remember that you have a spot for your yacht here in Vancouver ;)

    Oh No...

    I noticed a terrible bug in my App. I really cant imagine how this happened, because in the previous version it was not present... One impossible level, or almost impossible...

    More than 1000 downloads of the problematic version... :-(
