So I've got this image that I created with photoshop. The image is made of 1 layer, which is in Hard Light blending mode. When I use this image in GameSalad, it ignores the Hard Light that I set to the image. Instead of being transparent and Hard Lighted, the image is just gray (The color I used when making the image)..? I've tried saving the image to .jpg, .gif, .png but none save the Hard Light blending mode I assigned the layer in photoshop? Or is it just GameSalad?

tl;dr

How do I add a semi transparent image to GameSalad using blending modes in photoshop?

Make sure you flatten the image again after you applied the effect and if that doesn't work Rasterize the image and then save as png.
Rasterize image is somewhere in a pull down menu in photoshop.

I'm doing it this way. I've got 1 layer. I highlight it, then, in the dropdown menu above it with the blending modes, I choose Hard Light. I save image as .png, but it wont work. How should I do this?

Like I said. Try Rasterize image and then save as png.

Appreciate the help but I can't rasterize it since I'm not applying some sort of mask on my layer. I'm using the dropdown menu above the layer to make it Hard Light

    Hi,

    I think it's impossible.
To simulate effects, Photoshop needs a layer behind.
If you haven't this layer, Photoshop can't simulate effect.

When you generate your PNG, the background is transparent, so... he haven't layer.

The solution is to use an other format like JPG, but it's not transparent.

The other solution, let your image without effects and try with GameSalad effects, I don't know if Gamesalad have this option.

It's a solution, but effects like that will kill your game performances.
