edited November -1 in Working with GS (Mac)
I tried downloading the dual stick project u created but since I haven't upgraded my gamesalad to 0.9 (no snow leopard yet) the game just crashes my gs software (0.8.7)

To where to I add these rules and attributes?
To the actor?
Obviously I gotta make some actors but do I add the "hold controllers /move" rules to the green circle. or not?
and the aim to the red one?

i'm completely lost lol

please help out :) thanks!

You should probably upgrade to Snow Leopard since you can not publish with GameSalad pre-0.9.0.

Here is how the joystick project works.

There are very small actors corresponding to each of the touch attributes. Their positions are constrained to those attributes if the touch is active. The joystick will constrain its position to the touch position corresponding to the very small actor it collides with.

Word of warning many people reported their games built with pre 0.9.0 GS were broke when they tried to publish with 0.9.0 so it would be very sad to keep working on this and then upgrade to snow leopard so you can publish and it not work.

yea i know, but i'm trying to learn as much as possible as i keep note of everything i'm learning :p

i got a 2007 mac mini currently. my bday is on the 21st on jan. the good wife is gonna hook me up with a new 2010 mac mini with snow leopard pre installed.

so right now i'm just trying to learn the mechanics and everything :)

will i be able to just use the dual joystick demo as a TEMPLATE and just start my game from there and replace the beach ball actor with my own actor?

also i was trynna figure out how the green and red circles wont go past the round black circles their in. i like that.
don't get me wrong, i would love to just start my apps from that template / demo, but i love to pick my brain as well. otherwise i will depend on premade mechanics, which is not good imho.

so yea, can i just open this dual stick demo and start my game from there? adding all my stuff?

Do I create a black circle and add the base rules to that? The hold?
