Queensland Floods

Hi guys, as you've probably had a glimpse of on the news wherever you are, Brisbane and the rest of Queensland has been dealing with a tonne of floods. My house is fine, but JUST around the corner is a whole different story. Yesterday morning I went for a wander to check out the peak water levels.

I live about 20 minutes from the actual CBD where the media are focusing a lot of their attention, and until the waters peaked I wasn't seeing any water in my area, and it was hard to believe it was even happening. And even yesterday when I was checking it out, it was so hard to believe what I was seeing. It was like a ghost town without the city traffic - heaps of people just walking around checking out the damage.

Today the waters are receeding, and there is somewhere around 2000 roads cut off, 15 people dead, 20 000 flooded homes, and about 80 000 without power.

That's really quite eerie - just how *quiet* it is, and seeing all that water!

I noticed Luigi got into frame at the last second - I think it's a little late to call for a plumber!

Anyway, hope things get back to as close to 'normal' as possible soon!

    QS :D

I've heard about this! I have family in QLD, luckily not near this area...

So sorry to hear about this, and hope it gets resolved swiftly!

Yeah it really was something you'd see in a movie. You'll notice in that video that the water is up to the traffic lights, and where I was filming it I was up to my waist

Luigi is part of my keyring haha :)
