Trying to restore some balance to the recent posts about people jumping ship to other game engines.

So sorry everyone on the forum but I've decided after briefly looking at the competition that the main reason I chose GameSalad in the first place still holds true. Code free gaming, a great forum, solid easy to use scene editor and an easy to understand interface. With exciting updates in the pipeline over the next year...

I'm holding tight and am going to continue tinkering with my games. Not that I've finished many, I still enjoy working on them and trying different game ideas out. I've got used to GameSalads little quirks, e.g. restarting the software pretty often to keep it all running smoothly.

What am I currently working on:

A point and click horror adventure type game.
Dark Asylum - The 7 Lost Souls (Finally has an official title).

Thread on the progress of the game here:
http://gamesalad.com/forums/topic.php?id=13706&page=2#post-108346

So, what are you working on?

thanks for this post stormy. I too felt the same way and I am staying put for now or for as long as I can. Tried Corona but I just keep coming back to Gamesalad. Am I being to complacent? I hope this is not the case and pray Gamesalad will continue to do well.

I'm still using GameSalad. I've actually got five apps planned.

How come you don't have anything under your name? Like "member" or "sous chef"?

    You are nothing! :D

I too am still using gs. I'm learning corona, but only for game ideas I have which will benefit from leaderboards and facebook integration etc. if it's just local scores I'll use Gs! if gs gets gamecenter then I might not use corona at all.

If Game Centre and in app purchase were in GS, I would be so much more content :)

and of course, if it didn't slow down to a grinding halt every 5 or 10 mins

But even so, nothing has really made me want to jump ship just yet.

I tried Corona briefly, and it's great and pretty easy to get a handle on, but having no visual scene editor makes is so much less fun to make games/levels.

I tried Unity briefly, and was a bit baffled by it to be honest. But it seemed nice. Mark (the other Mitten) had a play with it more, and managed to make a 3d maze game, but he kinda hated the process.

Yes! That's my point. GS is awesome. It's just that re bugs frustrated ME. If you can live with them then kudos :)

I like GS, I want it to thrive. I'm still going to be around in the background.

I too am staying, in way to deep on my first game and I never would have gotten this far without GS.

    Hi.
I'm staying here at gamesalad for so many reason, the people here at the forums r great and helpful, its easy to make games with it, beside all the restarting trouble, Not afraid of coding just its a lot easier here... Love the scene editor on it... and the publishing option make things easy as well...
Just need the game center, in app purchase, android support, macstore, lol and the memory leak, but I know it takes time to fix bugs and have new features done... and they r working on them... just hope they come quick.
I'm working in two new titles but this time I'm taking the time to make them as good as i can...
Also I'm getting the pro version cause I think its a good inversion and give you more chance to make money...
    Exciting times coming... lol

That is *very* nice - especially as I was trying to do something like this a year ago!

I couldn't get the maths quite right though, and it would crash the device if a collision with the player registered :(

Still, one day I'll go back to it!

Congrats - it looks great, even as it is!

I am working on a caveman type platform using a modified version on Darrens platform template. I Will probably remake the first level in iTorque2D to compare speed and then possibly in Corona and compare all 3 engines.
