Icon/picture Trouble--PLEASE Help!!!

Does anyone know of a software that you can create pictures with? I've tried GIMP, but it isn't as user friendly. Is there any other software I can use that isn't too advanced and that I can easily move to Gamesalad???

    what kind of pictures are you trying to create? If the GIMP is too advanced, then what are you trying to do?

    umm illustrator is what I use. illustrator photoshop pixelmator. thats all I got.

    if the GIMP is not to your liking (although VERY capable in every way) than I would suggest that you buy Adobe Photoshop Elements. Version 9 is their latest offering and it will give you a lot of power to play with.

    Sometimes, when you buy a WACOM tablet (even an entry level one) you might get free software that might be useful too for just a little extra.

    Pixelmator costs $30 but i can not recommend with because the app has snapping to grid issues which is a must have feature for me.

    If you have money like I don't, there is always the King of 2D editors, PS

    I dont see how gimp is not user friendly though I find it easier to work with than most others. but im also not an artist so maybe that why I get along with it better.

    The only problem I have is GIMP files just won't get into files Gamesalad accepts! I know I need a file converter, but what kind should I use?

    you dont need a file converter with gimp. When your naming the file when saving name it whatever you want.png

    if you save without that it will just save as a gimp project, you just give it a extension at the end of the name to switch

    Ahem there is an easy fix to that!

    When you save the file, ignore the name GIMP suggests and just type: filenameyouchoose.png and that's it!

    If all my problems were so easy to fix ....

    You can also save as .psd so it maintains your layers but GameSalad will convert automatically when you drag it over. :)
