Rotating handle constrained to the finger.

Hey there helpful friends,

I was hoping someone could give me a brief summary of how to best accomplish the following: I'm going to have the player turn a dial. Basically, its a handle, that will rotate 90 degrees to one side. Also, once the player starts turning it, it can stop if he/she takes his/her finger off, but it shouldn't be able to rotate back toward the original position.

Think of a gumball machine. You put your coin in, then you turn the handle. It only goes one direction, and it stops when it gets to the end. That's what I'm going for.

The more important part is just how to constrain a rotating dial to the finger. So if someone would be so kind as to give me a rundown for that, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Chris

John, thanks for the link there. Thats exactly the kind of functionality I'm looking to learn how to do.

Forgive me if the answer is really obvious, but is there anyway I can look at the 'code' behind those projects? I clicked the 'download project' button on the bottom right and all it did was open the window up much larger.

I'd like to see how that was done.

    Thanks very much!

Right click on the download project button and clisk save as. Save as whateveer you want. It will give you a .game file, rename the file to whateveer .zip. Then after you change it to .zip double click the .zip file it makes and the game project file will pop out. You can then open that with gamesalad and see all the behaviors
