3G vs 3GS is it worth it?

So ive run my game through some beta testing.. on a iphone 4 it works awesome and on a iphone 3gs its pretty much the same..

however on a older iphone 3g it does not work very well at all... the game lags the frame rate drops its no good really... its like the processor is simply to slow...

my question is this... is it still worth developing for the 3g devices as they are becoming older and older and outdated.

and... if so what do i need to do to make my game 3g... like is said 3gs and 4gs have no problems what so ever

I would plan on dropping 3g support soon. iOS 4.3 appears to drop support for 3g so those device will probably quickly become few and far between.
