There is still no game center?

From the reviews of players, the online scoring systems like game center, openfient etc are very important for games now. I hope they can be added to GS even if they are in GS pro

Yeah.. I've had loads of reviews going on about a lack of leaderboard etc in a couple of my games.

Also...they game I am working on now, will be soooooooooooooooo much better with leaderboards

    sucks....but we have to wait.

There was a thread yesterday where Yoda said he was going to try and get some concrete info on gamecenter for us though.

Just hop it's not "too" far down the line.

Im confused as to why Yodapollo closed the other thread regarding GameCenter....

Seems he thought the new update meant the whole debate of why we still dont have GameCenter, or when it can be expected was no longer a valid issue, and closed the thread so that it would disappear under all the new threads regarding the update.

The issue with GameCenter, or more precise, the lack of it is still one that needs answering.

Maybe I should start a new thread...

Game Center - NO EXCUSE! It should be included in the 0.9.2 update!

I'd like to see 0.9.2 come along in the next couple of weeks, rather than another 2-3 months down the line.

GameCenter shouldnt take long to implement if its tasked as a priority, and from what Im reading, the latest update hasnt included any kind of fix or rework for the stupid/broken GameSalad white loading sequence, and that should have been sorted out back in December, when Yodapollo told us it was being looked at as that weeks top priority.

So a quick 0.9.2 update would be really appreciated just to sort those 2 issues out. Both should be easily implemented within a week or 2, so there really shouldnt be any reason to make us wait months for them.

    Do you mean this:

"Fixed an issue causing the GameSalad loading movie to be delayed"

from Bug fixes in release notes here:

If so, even more GameCentre love time!

You start that thread Photics but HAAA! Don't hold your breath guys.
As for Yoda and any other HEAD saying I'll get back with concrete info is a pure BS response. As if they don't know if they are working on it or not! I lost trust in them as a team last year what was it June? And here we are doing the same thing.
WOW! Is this what GS is going to be a couple small features a year!

    I can't argue that progress isn't slow.

However, consider that they might have a different schedule to what we want in mind. Giving us 'more concrete info' on GameCentre may mean trying to pin down when it was due to hit and perhaps the possibility of bringing it forward, or if there are complications, moving it back.

I understand your frustration, really I do, but this doesn't help.

Ive not actually had time to check to see if the loading splash animation actually runs quicker on a build with 0.9.1, but if thats actually true, then yup, there might actually be something in this build that I wanted, and doesnt still need fixing.

I'll wait and see though.... as I bet its not entirely fixed, and still needs further improving. But if they did actually include some improvement in this update then thats at least something.

And like you said... would leave more time for sorting out GameSalad for a quick 0.9.2 update! :)

And that just goes to back up my argument as to why they should have concentrated on finishing off the software to full version 1.0 for the existing devices before adding further devices.

Half the dev time over the next month or 2 is now going to be spent fixing the Mac Store side of the software, and it'll probably take even longer now for GameCenter and the long list of editor and engine improvements that people have been waiting for to ever see the light of day.

But then again if you have an iphone game thats doing ok, you can quickly add a couple features and port it over with Darren's Tool and have more exposure.

There's loads of features they could add to make GS better (I'd say solid performance and loading times should be at the top of the list). But we can't have everything all at the same time...!

(I only started using GS when 0.9 came out tho so I probably don't feel the same frustrations that 'old timers' like you lot do ;o)

Being able to make my own games is a great.

Ah, I remember the good old days... seems like an update came about every 2-3 weeks.

    good times

    Hey guys.

Our devs just finished wrapping 0.9.1 pretty late last night, but we're evaluating and prioritizing features/items for 0.9.2 over the next few days. We definitely hear the demand for GameCenter and are working to secure it on the schedule as soon as possible.

    Thanks everyone.

    All very carefully worded...

    EDIT :

Reminds me of the Pinocchio Interrogation in Shrek : -

'I'm possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that in no way with any amount of uncertainty that I undeniably do or do not know where he shouldn't probably be, if that indeed wasn't where he isn't. Even if he wasn't at where I knew he was, that'd mean I'd really have to know where he wasn't.'

Jill, YOU could do the community a HUGE favour ....

while they (devs) are sleeping, sneak over to the whiteboard, make a little room at the top, grab a RED felt marker and write this:

    ADD GAME CENTER A.S.A.P.

Be sure to do the dots after the a, s, a and p (those help sell the urgency quite a bit plus, dots are real crowd pleasers ... i find)

OK guys, if Jill does that, you should be good to go .... in a few months!

Your telling us nothing new... we hear that from Yodapollo all the time. If you could tell us its in 0.9.2 and the update will be out to us within a specific timeframe then thats the sort of thing were wanting to hear... we dont want you telling us that your going to look into it, or its a priority...as we've already been told that over and over... its time to hear that your actually working on it, and that we can expect it soon.

Im guessing your 0.9.2 planning over the next few days might be out of the window though, if all the 0.9.1 bugs and issues being reported are any indication of what your coders will be up to for the immediate future.

Lay off, Chunks. You don't speak for the community, and you're not gonna beat the information out of her with your "we want this, we don't want that" mob mentality. Even if she said it will be in the next release, you'll come on here and whine every day that the release wasn't fast enough.
