If I publish to the Mac App Store, is it still just as easy to ripoff the game assets as with regular Mac desktop publishing?

Bah, that's not good. I'm thinking that means the sound files can be ripped off too.

Also, the project file for regular Mac desktop games is editable. I pulled out the .project file and used it to launch GameSalad. It looked like everything was there.

This is a problem! These files should contain some encryption. It shouldn't be a matter of right-click.

This has been a problem since the dawn of computers. It's nothing new to gamesalad. All programs get Rez edited. Nothing we can do to stop it.

There's a difference here though. Usually, the source code is obscured. Usually there's more effort involved to extract game assets.

    That's true

This is like every other app, for instants

Show package content on the gamesalad creator

And there's all images and sounds , etc

YOu can get sounds from any game not just GS games.

Wow, I started poking around other Mac Applications. This is insane. It's all a matter of Right-Click, show package contents, Contents, Resources.

I don't think it's that easy with PC games.

As an example, Guild Wars has all of the game assets stored in a .dat file. Most users wouldn't know how to mess with that file.
