Does anyone know how to figure out an estimate file size for how bit the game will be when its a iphone app. Do you think when you make it into a standalone mac app, thats probably close to what it would be as a iphone app too?

Even if there isn't a limit for the app store, the smaller the better. I think if its over 20mb you have to download it over wifi. And if its a huge file size, I think people are less likely to have patients to download it.

but gameloft's game is always 500 MB
also, if you JB, you can download apps over 20MB via 3G

I just answered my own question. Didn't realize when you published to iphone, it would just send you an .app file. and yes its also pretty much the same size as the mac standalone file. :)

Calvin - ya thats true, but I think if its 500mb, you expect a pretty impressive game, that I probably won't be able to live up to. And if your on At&t then 500mb is 1/4 of your bandwidth for the month.

I don't have an iphone. So you can only download 2 gig a month?
