sounds like you have a bad rule or missing attribute somewhere, that always causes the viewer to freak out, btu the GS preview can handle it.

make sure you check all your otherwise statements

its working on the first level. but if i die on the second level and hit retry it wont detect.. its a universal rule and it USED to work on the device aswell... then all the sudden it stops working... what gives?

I had the same problem with a project... worked fine in the Creator, but just locked up when running on device or in the viewer. I spent days going over the project with a magnifying glass, looking for a broken rule/attribute, but just couldnt seem to track the problem down.

I'd pretty much resigned the project to the bin, and was getting ready to start it over from scratch, when I thought I'd put it through Darren/Waynes GS Project Attributes utility to see if it might help... and it did. The utility didnt report any issues, but when I exported the file, it seemed to have cleaned up whatever the problem was and give me a new working version.

So if youve been working on your project for a while, and cant track down the problem, it might be worth buying the GS Project Attributes utility to see if it might fix it.

Its a great utility, and well worth the money.

I just loaded the broken project into the utility, and then saved it back out again.

The newly saved file then worked perfectly when I tried it on the viewer and did an adhoc build.

The utility is great for tracking down unused/redundant assets and attributes, and for organising your attributes better. It seems that it does something behind the scenes too though, and can help fix some hidden issues.

Wayne explained it a bit, that theres sometimes "anomalies" can creep into the XML file, and that the utility checks and compares for them from between GameSalad versions and repairs them if it finds them.... or something like that.
