chunkypixels recommended your GS attributes application. i have a semi broken game. it WORKS on gs but not entirely on the viewer (device). some buttons that are pressed aren't being deteted and things sporadically just malfunction. i was told you call these "anomalies" lol

my question is:

does gs attrubutes REALLY clear these anomalies or is that a theory?
is there a money back guarantee? (just wondering)

i REALLY wish to get my game released before valentines day or at least submitted by tomm.. i was supposed to finish it today but these issues are stopping me :(

this is the game in question:

    To be clear...

Im not saying that the GS Attributes utility will definately fix your game... Im just recommending it as a last resort, as it fixed my GS project file that was suffering from similar issues as yours...

Im not sure what Wayne was specifically referring to as "anomolies", so it might not be related to the issue your experiencing...so Im not sure its something you can ask for a guarantee for.... as your game might actually be having different issues to what I had.

So yup... I can recommend the utility, based on my own experience, but I wouldnt want you asking the guys for a guarantee that it will definately fix your problem, as its not really what the utility was meant to do...

you said "Wayne explained it a bit, that theres sometimes "anomalies" can creep into the XML file, and that the utility checks and compares for them from between GameSalad versions and repairs them if it finds them.... or something like that."

i think i recall him saying that aswell. i can only assume they ARE anomalies. i still having cracked it, but if I CAN'T FIX IT BY 5AM i'm just gonna try it with the gs attribute application.

Its a worthwhile utility to have for the job that its meant to do, with organising attributes...

And if theres the added chance it could fix an error in your project file, like it did with mine, then thats a nice bonus on the side...

Like I said... its not a guaranteed fix, but if youve tried everything else, then its got to be worth a shot.

    1. stop using thread titles like this, if people are searching for a solution it's useless. I'm updating it
    2. it's only like $10, so it's not a lot lost if it doesn't help you. it does so much more

i seen MANY MANY MANY ppl using thread titles like this so i figured was ok. far from useless cause i got some answers.

its actually 15 bucks but thats not bad :)

people do it, but it's not ok:

`3. USE DESCRIPTIVE TOPICS. You do have a whole line (it even word wraps!) to put something eye-catching and descriptive, so please refrain from naming your topic something completely useless like "Question..." and "Help, please!!!" Also, if your topic is something that's directed toward someone, write them on their wall, or go to their email or website and contact them through there. But, if you want others to chime in also, leave out their name on the topic and place it in the body of the topic instead. With these practices, the board doesn't end up look like a crazy IM chat history, but a bunch of informative, useful topics, full of discussion, hints, tips, and input from everyone in the community.`

Hi, the GS Project Attributes application is primarily a tool to manage your Game Attributes, providing functionality where GameSalad left off. That said, along the way we discovered that some game attributes created within GameSalad were constructed with irregularities. It would have been impossible for us to re-create these irregularities, so we chose to have the application re-construct the game attributes to strict XML Compliance. The results were surprising, as it actually seemed to resolve various GS bugs relating to the use of Game Attributes within Projects.

Your problem sounds very different however, and is related to problems within your Actors, Behaviours, Rules or Instances. We are in the middle of development with various other tools that will find ALL irregularities within your Project. One tool in particular (GS Project Optimizer) will identify these anomolies and tell you which Actor or Instance has these issues, as well as provide tools for image compression and other stuff.

If you want to send me a copy of your Project i'll happily run it through the test Build I have to see what issues it finds. Can't guarantee anything, but I'll certainly give it a try.

Email your project to: info (at) deepblueideas (dot) com

    Cheers
    Wayne
