how do i know my tax forms and stuff are good to go?

i filled them out but never got an ok from apple. am i supposed to receive a confirmation or something?

    I think if you log into your apple developer account, look in itunes connect, within one of the categories, billing, finance or something it will let you see if its all good, or pending etc..

    it has "effective dates" and "expiration" dates :/ does that mean i'm good to go?

    Yes, you should be good to go if you see the effective and expiration dates. And If your Contact and Bank info have an "edit" button, and your Tax info has "view" button, you should be ready.
