orbiting in a perfect circle when key is down

I'm trying to adapt this:
http://gamesalad.com/wiki/how_tos:gsc_circular_movement

but only move left or right when the key is down. I'm having some difficulty with it since it uses the timer function, so if you don't hole the button down constantly, it jumps.

anyone tackle something like this before?

I'm 90% there. I'll post it as a template if I can ever figure it out. I have the guy moving around the circle without a problem, but because I'm using vectortoangle for the offset, if you switch directions he jumps to the opposite side of that angle.

so, if he is +15 degrees, when you switch direction he starts at -15 degrees. it's very bizzare.

    tshirt, I'll email you today.

sorry, I was busy today, and i just got back from dinner. I've got it working 95%, it's only jumping the first time. I'm still playing around with it a little tonight
