What type of mac can I run GS?

First question I'm asking is what machine I should look for. Can I run this on a Macbook as long as I have OS 10.6? What about running it on an ipad? I keep hearing it's like having a mac and ipod in one but I don't see how that's possible.

After doing my taxes I need to put as much as I can away without going broke, since I'll need a ipod so I can compile my games on.

Any chance someone to direct me to where I can find discounted Macs? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You need an intel mac with snow leopard. The more Ram you get the better it will run i've run it with 1 gig but currently have 4 and its definitely way better.

If price range is A HUUUGGE issue, than go with quality. You will regret getting an "ok" mac. If you get a good one, it will pay off. I have the 1199$ 21 inch Imac.

I ran GS using an old white intel macbook I got on ebay for $350. It had 2GB of ram and an 80GB hard drive and it ran it fine.

obviously the more you throw at it the better, but you can get your feet wet with a cheapo laptop

I bought a Mac Mini 1.8Ghz with 1Gb ram for $350 from Ebay and it is probably the minimum that I could work on. Any less processor speed would probably be too slow. With only 1GB I have to be careful about memory management -- I have to close all the other programs to save memory and save/restart Game Salad frequently. Even so I am happy with progress.

if you upgrade that to 2GB of ram you will be blown away by the performance improvements. available RAM affects GS much more than cpu power. I highly suggest you spend the $30 or so dollars and upgrade

Anyone tried it running on Macbook Air? How does it compare to a Macbook Pro or iMac? I'm thinking of getting one as soon as I can.

i run it on an 11" macbook air on a daily basis, it works great. I bumped the ram up to 4GB though, makes a big difference.

How does the 11 inch screen hold up with gamesalad? I would've thought it was too small to be able to work smoothly.

I started on a mac mini used @-350. all you need is an intel mac. now i have a macbook with 3gb ram and it is way better. on idevices it can be run. either building it and using a development provisioning profile or using the gamesalad viewer.

I run it on a vanilla MacBook 12" Intel

The screen size makes it a bit tough at times, but the software itself runs perfectly fine.
