Rope Motion

Hello everyone

I'm trying to make a game which includes a monkey jumping on the a rope and the rope swings and he is able to jump off the rope and grab onto another one. How do I make the rope move from side to side? And how do I set it so as soon as the monkey touches the rope he 'grabs' on?
