Hey everyone!

Hope you all ok..., well, atleast better than me!
Iv been planning this one game for quite some time...iv done some animations of the characters and build navigation bars etc...but from what i understand...il need to build it on cocos2d or unity...which is a very bad thing, as i dont know objective-C.

Im building a pacman style game, but with a built in shooter...in other words, grabbing the power pellets, allows me to shoot the ghosts/characters and have them respawn again.

But from what iv heard, pacman styled templates are very complex and introducing my kind of game, including the animation sprites of each character could mean, insane drop in frame rate.

Anyone here with valuable info? PLEASE GET BACK TO ME!

Kind Regards
Ricardo (South Africa)

I wouldn't be concerned about the animations as much as the number of actors that you will probably want on the screen at one time; primarily the wall actors to keep the player on a particular path and the power pellets and bullets. That being said, there have been some attempts at recycling actors and Darren had a great template (not free but definitely worth investigating to see if it meets your needs).

Head over here for more information. Look at the GameSalad Shoot 'em Up Template in specific.

Actually Darren has a pretty nice pac man template that seems to play pretty nice on the device. Maybe not 3g but good on iphone 4

    Thanks all..

But ya, we were looking into making the game visually beautiful, lots of effects on menus, and backgrounds...bullet effects etc.

So im just worried that il be wasting time building it on GS...and then half way through i realize i made a mistake, regarding the platform of choice.
